Intended audience and prerequisites

These courses were born out of frustration. There is very little end-to-end training available for the offensive cyber security side of embedded systems, including the Internet of Things (IoT) and Operational Technology (OT).

Training for people who actually build and break things

The training that exists today is often heavily focused on slide decks, lectures, and then a short period of unstructured hands-on time. What’s more, there are very few providers covering the full breadth of knowledge and practical skill required for offensive cyber security work across embedded systems, IoT, and Operational Technology.

These courses are designed differently. The focus is on developing real technical understanding, practical capability, and the confidence to apply both in the real world. We anticipate that the people most drawn to this training will be highly technical, hands-on “do-ers” who enjoy working deeply with technology and understanding how things truly function.

So, if you are a practitioner working in detailed technical fields, you are in the right place.

You might work in penetration testing, hardware design, embedded engineering, product security, research, or highly technical project delivery. Equally, you may simply be someone who enjoys working with the nitty-gritty details of technology and wants to push your understanding further. If that sounds like you, or where you are already heading, you will likely find these courses both interesting and enlightening.

Choosing the right starting point

Individuals whose responsibilities are primarily management-focused may find that some of our courses are more technical than their day-to-day role requires. That said, if you are looking to move into a more hands-on technical career path, these courses may actually be an excellent fit — just be prepared for some intense and highly detailed training.

If you are unsure whether the current courses are the right starting point, we also have introductory-style training in development. These courses focus more on foundational knowledge, operational challenges, and broader concepts whilst still giving you a taste of the deeper technical material.

So if you are not quite sure where to begin, register your interest and we will let you know as soon as these introductory courses are available. Alternatively, get in touch and we can discuss where you are now, what you are hoping to achieve, and how we can help you find the right path forward together.

A modular approach to embedded systems hacking

Our courses are designed as a series that can be completed sequentially, but there is no requirement to take every course or follow the suggested order. Each course is designed to stand on its own. That said, some students – particularly those with less experience in embedded systems or offensive hardware security – may find that progressing through the courses in sequence helps build confidence and makes the overall learning journey feel more natural, as many later topics build upon concepts introduced earlier in the programme.

You may also notice that not all planned courses are currently available. Additional courses are actively being developed and prioritised based on the demand we receive. So if there is a particular topic or course you are interested in, let us know – this helps us prioritise development and allows us to keep you updated with progress, release dates, and early access opportunities.
